Pod Vape Kit NZ: Which Replacement Pod Fits Which Device

Minimal editorial illustration of two abstract geometric blocks joined by an alignment line with a dashed outline marking the matching position

Replacement pods are matched to a device family, not to a size of device. In the range sold on this site, ten families are listed, and each one takes its own pod: an IGET Bar Plus 3.0 pod is a different product from an IGET Bar Plus 4.0 pod, even though both are IGET pods and both are prefilled. If you are reordering, the reliable check is the model line written in the product name plus the pod listing’s own figures, not the shape of the device or how much liquid the pod holds.

The table below puts every current device family and its matching replacement pod side by side, using the specifications published on the pod vape category and the individual product pages on this site as checked on 14 September 2026.

What a pod vape kit contains in New Zealand

Three kinds of listing appear under the same device name, and mixing them up is the most common reason people order the wrong item.

  • Kit: one rechargeable device plus one prefilled pod in the box. The Elfbar JoinOne Icy kit lists one Lumeo device and one Berries pod; the Inmood Switch 10K kit lists the device and one Switch pod.
  • Device: the battery and body only. Useful if you already have a working pod and want a second device, or if you are replacing a device that has stopped holding charge.
  • Replacement pod: the part you buy repeatedly. It holds the e-liquid and the coil, and it is the item most readers actually need.

These systems are closed pods: the pod carries its own coil and is not designed to be refilled or rewicked. When a pod is finished, it is a spent part rather than something to top up. If you are deciding between a prefilled closed pod and a refillable pod system, the comparison of prefilled and refillable pods covers that format choice rather than the pairing question here.

Which replacement pod fits which device

Every row below is a current listing on this site. Pod figures are the values published on the pod listing, and puff numbers are listing or manufacturer-rated values rather than measured results.

Three patterns in that table decide most reorders. The IGET families are the clearest case: 3.0, 4.0, Edge and Luna each carry their own pod, so owning an IGET device does not tell you which pod to buy. The Luna pods show a second trap, because the 20 mg/mL and 28.5 mg/mL versions carry different flavour lists, so a flavour you bought last time may not exist in the strength you switch to. And capacity is not a ranking: the NexPOD pod is listed at 8 mL and 3,500 puffs while the JoinOne pod is listed at up to 20,000 puffs, and the difference reflects different device classes rather than quality.

If you own an IGET device specifically, the IGET pod compatibility notes go through that brand’s checks in more detail.

How to confirm the right pod before you reorder

1. Match the model line in the name

Read the device name and the pod name together. The shared segment is the reliable signal: Bar Plus 3.0 pairs with Bar Plus 3.0, Edge LP15000 with Edge LP15000, NexPOD with NexPOD. If the segment differs, the pod is a different product, even when both are sold under the same brand.

2. Take capacity and puff figures from the pod listing

Device listings describe the battery, charging, indicators and lock behaviour. Capacity in millilitres, puff figures, coil type and flavour count sit on the replacement pod listing. Ordering from the device page alone leaves you without the information you need to confirm the part.

3. Compare how the nicotine figure is written

Some pods on this site are listed at 28.5 mg/mL, others at 20 mg/mL or 26 mg/mL, and a few pod listings show a second salt expression next to the first. Pick the strength version you intend to buy and confirm the figure on the variant you select, because the variant you choose is the product that arrives.

Device-side specifications that affect the choice

Battery capacity across these families runs from 600 mAh to approximately 1,100 mAh, and the listing fields differ between models in ways that matter when you are choosing a device rather than a pod. Four listings report both a battery-level and an e-liquid level indicator: the Edge LP15000, the Luna KP13000, the Vapengin Jupiter 2 and the Vozol Alien Luxe 15K, so you can check the pod without removing it. The two IGET Bar Plus models report a display screen and a battery-level indicator but no e-liquid level indicator, the DRAGBAR ICZ MAX and the Wotofo NexPOD signal battery state without a display screen, and the Inmood Switch 10K reports neither a display nor a battery-level indicator. One device in this set lists adjustable airflow: the Inmood Switch 10K states Adjustable Airflow: Yes, while the JoinOne Icy instead lists an adjustable iciness level, which changes how cool the draw feels rather than how tight it is.

Power modes change the puff figure rather than the pod. On the Edge LP15000 the listing shows 15,000 puffs in Regular Mode and 12,000 in Turbo Mode; on the Luna KP13000 it shows 13,000 in Regular Mode and 7,000 in Turbo Mode; on the Bar Plus 4.0 it shows 15,000 in Regular Mode and 10,000 in Boost Mode. If you use the higher-output mode, the pod will not deliver the headline number, and the higher figure applies to the lower-output mode. The device listings also describe switching the device on or off with five quick presses and an automatic lock after several minutes of inactivity, which is worth knowing before you assume a device has failed.

Reading puff counts and nicotine labels

Puff counts on these listings are rated numbers, not measured ones, and one listing states that plainly: the JoinOne pod is described as up to 20,000 puffs, manufacturer-rated. Draw length, power mode, temperature and how often you use the device all move the real figure. Treat the number as a way to compare pods in the same class, not as a promise about how long a pod will last. For the same reason, the drop from a headline figure to a mode-specific figure is not a defect; it is the listing telling you which mode the bigger number was measured in.

Nicotine figures need the same care. A pod listed at 28.5 mg/mL is not the same product as one listed at 20 mg/mL, and the two may be sold as separate variants with different flavour lists. The labelling rules that apply to these products in New Zealand are set by the Ministry of Health, and the short version is that the nicotine concentration in reusable salt-based vaping products is capped, which is why the figures you see on these listings cluster around a small number of values rather than climbing freely.

What New Zealand rules mean for prefilled pod systems

New Zealand changed its retail rules for vaping products on 17 June 2025. The sale and supply of disposable vapes was banned from that date, and tighter restrictions on retail visibility and marketing came in at the same time, which is why reusable pod systems and refillable devices now carry the category. The Ministry of Health summary of the recent Smokefree law changes sets out the current position, and an independent public health briefing published in June 2026 reviews what changed and how retailers responded.

For reusable products, the Ministry of Health regulatory guidelines for retailers state that the concentration of nicotine in a reusable product whose nicotine is present only in salt form must not exceed 28.5 mg/mL, while every other vaping product, single-use or not, is capped at 20 mg/mL. The Elfbar JoinOne Icy kit listing carries an R18 notice stating the product is intended for adults aged 18 and over, and prefilled pods in a closed system are non-refillable parts that should be disposed of responsibly rather than refilled at home.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use a Bar Plus 3.0 pod in a Bar Plus 4.0 device?

The two pods are listed as separate products with different capacity and coil specifications, so the pairing you confirm on the pod listing is the one to follow. Order the pod whose name matches your device model line.

Is a pod with more liquid always the better choice?

Only compare fill sizes inside one device family. Open your own device’s pod listing and read three fields in order: the millilitre figure, the puff figure for the mode you actually use, and the flavour list for the strength variant you are buying. A bigger figure on a different family does not help you, because that pod will not fit your device.

Do I need a new device when a pod gets a new version?

Only if the pod listing names a different device family. A new flavour or strength variant of an existing pod is a variant change, not a device change, and it can be checked on the pod page before ordering.

Prices, promotions and current stock are not covered here: those change, and the product page is the place to check them. What does not change quickly is the pairing, and that is what the table above is for. If you are unsure between two pods, the signs that a pod is due for replacement are a quicker way to work out what you actually need to order next.
